The jadeite is of a color resembling the emerald green of bamboo and clear water. Since ancient times, it has been endowed with the noble character traits of “benevolence, wisdom and purity”. Poets often wore it to cultivate their moral integrity and communicate with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. Practitioners held it in their palms to assist in “harvesting qi”, or placed it on the altar to ward off evil spirits.
